Job description
Our databases and analysis algorithms require a performant and robust software infrastructure that allows 24/7 accessibility via web interfaces and client applications. You
- develop and maintain a scalable back-end infrastructure and work closely with bioinformatics scientists to implement tools for genomic big data analysis
- gain a deep understanding of bioinformatics applications and databases and participate in product design
- interact tightly with front-end developers and provide timely support for our platform components
- are strongly committed to modern software engineering methods and follow development best practices on industry standard level
Desired skills and experience
- University degree (Bachelor/Master) in Computer science or related fields
- 3+ years software development experience in an enterprise environment
- deep understanding of software design, back-end development and system integration
- strong expertise with programming languages (Java, Python)
- advanced experience with database systems (relational and NoSQL) and file management
- strong expertise with software validation, testing and documentation
- experience with version control and release management tools
- familiarity with RESTful APIs and distributed computing is a plus
- experience in web technologies and Docker is a plus
- familiarity with machine learning algorithms and omics data standards is a plus
- excellent communication skills and ability to actively participate in an interdisciplinary team
